Bill Curtis’s journey into the world of design began early, accompanying his father on building projects to construction sites and architectural studios, where he witnessed the creative process firsthand. His career began in Washington, D.C., where he focused on large-scale institutional projects that demanded thoughtful contextual engagement. This experience shaped his commitment to creating purpose-driven designs that respect and respond to their surroundings.

Drawn back to his native Texas, Bill partnered with Russell Windham in 1992. Together, they envisioned a practice that would balance timeless architectural principles with a fresh, adaptive approach. Over the past 33 years, Bill has been a cornerstone of the firm, shaping its creative vision and driving its growth from a small partnership into a thriving and esteemed practice. A passionate architect and leader, he finds joy in mentoring the next generation of architects, sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience.
