Rosie Cannonball and March
houston, tx
After working with these entrepreneurial clients on several residential projects of varying scales, we were eager to take a multifaceted project of an entirely new and invigorating nature: to design two restaurants, separate entities housed within the same building. On the first floor: Rosie Cannonball, a contemporary Italian restaurant with a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. On the second floor: March, a charming, disarming Mediterranean exploration which was awarded its first Michelin star in 2024. The rigors of a professional kitchen not-withstanding, this project was refreshing and invigorating in it’s function-driven search for a new aesthetic language of commercial design.
“With our residential work, we always place great emphasis on supporting an reaffirming the fabric of whatever neighborhood or context we find ourselves in. It is much the same with a commercial building, only now we had to re-establish a district which was slowly being lost. We gave these restaurants a clean language of simple details that would give them a real sense of place on their heavily trafficked city street.”
